Miércoles de nostalgia: Archers of Loaf
He decidido que cada miércoles que lo recuerde, procuraré postear algo perteneciente a los más gratos recuerdos musicales que tenga, ignorando por supuesto la vigencia o la temperatura de su hotness.
Ellos son los Archers of Loaf, la banda post-grunge que cambió mi vida gracias a un soundtrack seleccionado por Kevin Smith para su película Mallrats; ninguna obra de arte por cierto...
Desde entonces, no he podido dejar de consumir bandas que me remonten a ellos, actualmente existen dos que en particular me recuerdan mucho a los arqueros del pan: Ex-Boyfriends y Chin Up Chin Up. Aunque tambien los Bound Stems de pronto se acercan. No se preocupen, también incluiré algunas canciones de ellos.
En resúmen, Archers of Loaf son la banda más cool de mis recuerdos adolescentes, tienen un lugar bien merecido al lado de los Pixies, Pavement, Cap'n Jazz, Dinosaur Jr, Modest Mouse y Built To Spill, entre muchos otros clásicos, claro. Aquí les dejo una pequeña selección..

My apologies if you don't read English. I'm in Bound Stems, and I'm thrilled that you compared my band to Archers of Loaf. It's amazing how often I think about Archers of Loaf--especially "Web in Front." "Stuck a pin in your backbone / All I ever wanted was to see your spine." When that song first came out, I was in a band called Harvey Danger, and we used to listen to it that album all the time. "Audiowhore" and "Greatest of All Time" were other big-time favorites. Harvey Danger was definitely influenced by Archers of Loaf, and I like to think that Bound Stems is too--even if I'm the only one in the band who's heard them.
